One Trust are delighted to have been chosen again as one of the charities supported by this years Nightingale Walk!
The walk, on Saturday 22nd June 2019, was the 40th consecutive year of the event, making it one of the longest running (albeit at walking pace!) community charity events in the country. Local people from in and around the Nightingale Lane area in Wandsworth have been pounding the path in aid of local good causes since October 1979, raising a staggering £500,000 so far.
This year’s walk started from Walton on Thames station at 9am. There were 2 other starting points where you could join the walk later in the morning;
- The longest walk from Walton on Thames is a 20 mile route.
- There is an intermediate starting point at Kingston which kicks off a 13 mile route.
- There is also a micro-route which starts at Richmond and is a mere 7.5 miles, particularly suited to anyone walking with dogs or small children.
Transport was provided at the end of the course (Putney) to return finishers to the Nightingale pub.
In support of the walkers, One Trust managed a checkpoint/ refreshment station at Richmond – check out some photos of the day below.
