Following a growing demand for music therapy at One Trust, Pavlina Papadopoulou joined our team of music therapists in May 2017. Pavlina trained at Nordoff Robbins music therapy and has more than 10 years’ experience of working in learning disabilities and mental health services including schools, hospitals, music therapy clinics and day services.
Pavlina is now based at Open Door Community Centre (the new home of Wandsworth Base) in Southfields on Tuesdays. She offers music therapy to service users from our Wandsworth, Battersea and Putney bases. The provision includes assessment, individual and group sessions depending on needs.
Pavlina says: ‘It has been a privilege to join the music therapy team at One Trust. We have great facilities and equipment that meets our clients’ needs. Service users have been motivated and enthusiastic to engage in their sessions and staff support has been fantastic’.
Our service users have expressed their views of music therapy in a number of ways. Some by consistently asking for music therapy sessions, most through their keen participation. ‘Music therapy is my favourite from all week!’ says F, one of our service users.
